In an article recently published on the official page, Apple has announced that starting with May 25, 2018 will make significant changes in application security iTunes for Windows. Besides protecting users and enhancing application performance iTunes Store, also as a consequence will be incompatibility with operating systems Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Thereafter users of Windows Vista and Windows XP will use older versions of iTunes, but the operations on these versions will be limited. They will no longer be able to buy new articles from iTunes Store and will no longer be able to download the already purchased items. Basically the application will be used only to listen to locally stored music and to synchronize Apple devices with older iOS versions.
For Windows XP and Windows Vista bought music and movies From iTunes Store, this change will be a little strange. It puts them unable to access the content for which they paid.

Starting with May 25, 2018, the new acquisitions in the iTunes Store will be made only with the latest version of the iTunes application and with Windows 7 or newer operating system.

It is worth noting that Apple is not the first company to interrupt the support for older Microsoft operating systems. Even Microsoft has interrupted updates for these bone versions, and last year Mozilla and Google announced that starting this year they will cease support for Firefox and that Chrome.

I've been writing passionately since 2004 about Windows and Linux operating systems, and since 2010 I've become a fan of Apple University. I'm currently writing tutorials for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and other Apple devices.
