We do not believe that this change will affect too many users. Smartphones with BlackBerry OS and Windows Phone 8.0 are no longer present on the market for a long time. It should be specified that smartphones with Android operating system (BlackBerry Priv and DTEK50) will be affected.

Regarding the owners of devices with Windows Phone 8.0, the WhatsApp application has not allowed the registration of new accounts since the beginning of November 2017. Starting with January 2018, it will no longer work even if you have the registered accounts and the active application.

If you are the owner of a smartphone with Windows Phone 8.0 that supports upgrade, we recommend that you update Windows Phone 8.1. This version will continue to support the WhatsApp Messenger application.
