Smartphones with operating systems BlackBerry OS or Windows Phone 8.0 (or older version) or be private soon to be the most popular messenger application.

In a recent announcement, Jan Koum, the director WhatsApp announced in a few days the application WhatsApp Messenger will no longer be functional on mobile phones  / smartphones with BlackBerry OS and Windows Phone 8.0.
Initially, it was announced that CeSApp ceased to work from the month June 2017, but the company decided to extend this period by 6 months, giving the possibility to smartphone owners with BlackBerry OS or Windows Phone 8.0 to buy newer devices.

We do not believe that this change will affect too many users. Smartphones with BlackBerry OS and Windows Phone 8.0 have not been on the market for a very long time. It should be noted that smartphones with Android operating system (BlackBerry Priv and DTEK50) will not be affected.

Regarding the owners of devices with Windows Phone 8.0, the WhatsApp application did not allow the registration of new accounts since the beginning of November 2017. Starting with January 2018, it will no longer work even if you have registered accounts and the application is active.

If you own a smartphone with Windows Phone 8.0 that supports upgrade, we recommend you update to Windows Phone 8.1. This version will continue to support WhatsApp Messenger.
