In our lands, not much has been heard of "Spotify". I can bet that a lot of people have heard about this service somewhere but have no idea what it is and what it is used for.
Spotify is a music service, podcast and video streaming making headlines by USA and UK from 2008 until today. The service is extended worldwide, being present and supported in most of Europe, New Zealand, Australia, South America and Asia. In 2017, Spotify has over 160 million users, of which 71 million are subscribers. That is, those who pay a monthly subscription to get rid of ads and benefit from all the premium functions of the service.
Spotify has been present in Romania for a few days, but it is too early to talk about appreciation and popularity. Before we find out how many users will be able to collect from here and especially how many will be available to put their hands in their pockets to become Spotify subscribers, we must admit that we are "privileged". As usual, when it comes to this country. From the American companies, to the Western European ones and now Sweden, Romania was always launched in the last places. The Swedish company that owns the Spotify service arrived in Romania some time after the launches in Bulgaria, Cyprus and Poland. We have to admit that we are honored that Romania entered the Spotify map together with Vietnam, Israel and South Africa.
How can you listen to music on Spotify?
If you are familiar with Google Play Music on Android or Apple Music from iOS, then it won't be difficult for you to handle Spotify. Spotify offers a gallery of 36 million songs from all genres. What I liked personally, they seem to be better sorted on playlists than in Apple Music, but as a user of Apple services I would not give up in favor of Spotify.
If you are curious, from what I understand it is a period 7 day trial in which you can listen to music on Spotify without being limited. A trial month if you decide to switch to a Premium subscription that will offer music without ads, the possibility to listen music offline (favorite songs are downloaded on the device) and on-demand.
All you have to do is install Spotify for Android application or IOS and create an account. It also offers the possibility of connecting through your Facebook account, but I do not recommend doing this unless you intend to purchase a subscription.

Once the application is installed and your Spotify account is connected, you have access to the entire library of songs included in this service. As I said above, there are over 36 million songs included in playlists of all genres. From Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock to Chill, House, meditation, ambient, mood and classical music.
The cool part is that you can access and listen to all the music you have in the Spotify application on your iPhone or Android at any time from all the devices that support this online music service. You can access Spotify from your computer regardless of whether we are talking about Windows, macOS or Linux operating systems and you can redistribute playlists to your friends on FaceBook Messenger. Unfortunately Apple will not provide native support Spotify new speaker intelligence HomePod.

Alternative Spotify in Romania
Apple Music (45 million songs) is Spotify's main rival on iOS and macOS, and Google Play Music on Android, but other players that offer similar services should not be left behind. It should be noted that the local service Zonga It has everything 36 million songs and it costs nothing. So users will have to listen to some advertisements. ANY Deezer and Tidal are also services used by Romanian users and for which they do not have to take money out of their pockets.

Functions and features Spotify
- Playlists with many genres of music. I don't think I've seen such a good sorting of music genres on any other application. Rock, Gaming, Sleep, Dinner, Kids, Mood, Chill, etc. many others.
- Very good audio quality. We are talking about 320 kbit/s, which is an excellent quality. Music can be played clearly on high-performance audio systems.
- Integration for sharing content on Facebook and Twitter or via Messenger.
- Playlists that can collaborate more users and can be distributed through Facebook Messenger
- The Spotify application is optimized for all operating systems, so as long as the application is installed, you can listen to music on Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, iOS. Regardless of whether we are talking about a smartphone, iPhone, tablet, desktop computer or laptop.
- The music does not stop if the application is left running in the background and the phone is in sleep mode.
Users who want to test Spotify can install the application for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play for Android. You cannot use the service without registration. This is free and only takes a few seconds. No confidential data is requested, such as name, address, card or others. A username, an e-mail address and a password of at least 8 characters are sufficient.
