Update:

Apple has brought some interesting features on new models Macbook Pro launched in 2016 and 2017. It's about the models MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016), MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016), MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017) and MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017). All these models are provided with Touch Bar and fingerprint sensor for fast unlocking through a simple touch with your finger. Touch ID.

Besides the Touch Bar, Apple has brought other new features. One of these is the function of Auto-boot When we open the MacBook Pro cover. Run when you open the throttle. The same thing happens if MacBook or MacBook Pro is stopped with the lid open and we connect it to the power cable. The laptop will start immediately.
This is not a novelty for those who have iPhone. It is known that if we close all an iPhone or iPad (power off) and connect it to the charger, it will start.
Unfortunately, Apple does not offer the possibility of deactivating from settings of the auromat startup when opening the lid, but fortunately, an order from the terminal can solve this problem.

Disable automatic startup when open lid / MacBook Pro 2016 & MacBook Pro 2017

1. Open the Terminal utility. We find it in/Applications/Utility/or simpler, we use Spotlight Search in which we type "terminal".

2. To disable the automatic start of the MacBook Pro when opening the lid, we execute the following command line in the terminal:

sudo nvram AutoBoot=

Once this command is executed, the MacBook Pro opening will be made only from The "Power" button / Touch ID, from the right side of the Touch Bar.
On the MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017), when you open the lid, the battery charge level will appear, after which the laptop will remain closed.

After typing the control line, press ENTER and enter the user password. Press Enter again, that the command line is executed.

To activate the MacBook Pro's automatic opening again when you open the lid or connect the power cord, execute the order:

sudo nvram AutoBoot=

Note that this order is only valid for the MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Pro 2017 models. It will not affect the MacBook Air or other 12-inch MacBook models.

I've been writing passionately since 2004 about Windows and Linux operating systems, and since 2010 I've become a fan of Apple University. I'm currently writing tutorials for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and other Apple devices.
