We don't know if it should surprise us or not, but in spite of it very high prices for the iPhone ($999 starting price for iPhone X), Apple somehow manages to attract more and more fans from year to year.
This is why in 2017 Apple sold no less than 223 million iPhone units, while last year, in 2016 sold 211 million units.
A ranking done by USA TODAY put the iPhone first, in one top of the best-selling tech products in 2017.
In first place we have "iPhone" with 223 million units, but they are in this top included all models of iPhone which were sold by Apple in 2017.
On the following places of this ranking we find:
- Samsung Galaxy S8 si Note 8 : 33 million units sold
- Amazon Echo Dot : 24 million units sold
- Apple Watch : 20 million units sold
- Nintendo Switches : 15 million units sold
Therefore, the 2-5 places collected do not collect units sold as much as Apple succeeded with the iPhone in 2017.
It is unlikely that the data will remain the same at the end of 2018, after Apple introduced the iPhone X on the market at prices considered excessively high, and the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus models are not at more affordable prices. The 2017 top largely reflects sales of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, which were Apple's top of the range until the fall, when it was launched iPhone X,. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
Although the stocks of iPhone X have been sold out since the pre-order phase, before reaching the stores, it remains to be seen if during 2018, the three new models launched by Apple will manage to maintain the upward trend of iPhone sales.
