Near the middle of December 2019, Apple released the first beta version of the IOS / iPadOS 13.3.1. Theoretically, iOS 13 is compatible with all iPhone devices, from iPhone and up to iPhone 11, during iPadOS 13.3 it is available from iPad Air 2 up to today's models.

We know from our past experiences that as iOS develops, it becomes an increasingly difficult burden for older devices. iOS 13.3 is no exception, even more than that, if the current version of iOS 13.3.1 were released for all users, it would be a drama for those who have newer devices.
The iOS 13.3.1 Beta 1 version managed to attract a lot of criticism, and those who are already testing it through Apple Beta Software Program, hopes that Apple will get over the fever of the winter holidays faster and come up with an urgent update that will solve the problems of the latest version Beta 1 a iOS 13.3.1.

The most common problems encountered by iPhone and iPad users with iOS / iPadOS 13.3.1, are:

  • losing Wi-Fi connection after a while
  • the screen does not rotate when the device is turned from landscape to portrait mode, and vice versa
  • the Mail application does not bring the new received messages and does not notify the user if it is not open, although the "Push Notification" functions are set
  • sound problems during FaceTime calls
  • diPhone does not recognize the dictated text - the problem encountered even on the iPhone 11
  • the devices iPhone 8, iPhone 7 and older models have significantly degraded performances. Runs intermittently in Safari, Mail, video content and especially in games
  • iPad Pro 11 (2018), which is still the top of the range at the moment, has embarrassing performance in games and media content, with iOS 13.3.1 Beta 1.
  • Apple Pencil has moments when it doesn't want to work.

The list could go on with many other issues reported by users. We mention that many of them are also present on iOS 13.3, and from a preview of iOS 13.3.1, the problems seem to deepen instead of being solved.

We hope that Apple will come up with an update as soon as possible, which will solve the multitude of bugs and poor performance of iOS / iPadOS, and in 2020 we will have more pleasant surprises from Apple, and it looks like a company that has distinguished itself through innovation.

I can say that I'm an Apple fan, but I have to admit that Apple's innovation disappeared with Steve Jobs, and apart from inflated prices, the company didn't stand out for much.

I've been writing passionately since 2004 about Windows and Linux operating systems, and since 2010 I've become a fan of Apple University. I'm currently writing tutorials for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and other Apple devices.
