About a week ago, iOS users found that I can no longer use airplay to play Netflix content On TV, Via Apple TV. It is not a very big drama because Apple TV Supports the Netflix application. As well as many smart TVs have support for the Netflix application.
Usual users to watch Netflix movies and documentaries Through airplay, it should be reoriented. Netflix explains in an interview for The Verge, that they limited the access of iOS users to Airplay, following the Apple's decision to provide airplay support to several TV companies. This means that in the future, iOS users will be able to send content on TV via airplay, without the need for Apple TV.
Regarding Netflix, the company mentions that by providing support for third TV terminals via airplay (and not only to Apple TV), there is no way to make the distinction between devices, and the experience of the users will be affected. Therefore, they decided to stop the airplay support for Netflix, so that the quality beaches of the service are fulfilled.
We want to make sure our members have a great Netflix experience on any device they use. With AirPlay support rolling out to third-party devices, there isn’t a way for us to distinguish between devices (what is an Apple TV vs. what isn’t) or certify these experiences.
Therefore, we have decided to discontinue Netflix AirPlay support to ensure our standard of quality for viewing is being met. Members can continue to access Netflix on the built-in app across Apple TV and other devices.
It is not known whether Netflix will add the airplay support in the future or they will stay at this decision. One thing is certain. Netflix, the largest supplier of movies and documentaries online, begins to feel the breathing of the new similar serivciu that will be released by Apple this fall.
Apple TV+will be an online movie and documentary platform, diagnosed both iOS users and Smart TV from companies such as Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba and others.
