Microsoft is preparing a surprise to Mac users in 2019. After more than 15 years since Microsoft ceased the development of Internet Explorer for Mac, in 2019 returns with Microsoft Edge for macOS.
This will be possible after the development of EDGE on Chromium. Engine Open-Source developed by Google, which laid the base Google Chrome. One of the most used internet browsers globally.
Microsoft Edge has been available for some time for Apple devices, iPhone and iPad, being of great help for users of Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7, where Edge is "at home" and where he managed to successfully replace the old man Internet Explorer.

Why Edge on Macos? It is a question that many have asked after the news, being convinced that Edge will never be able to convince Mac users more than Chrome, Firefox and Safari. In the case of iPhone, iPad and Windows PC (Windows 10, 8.1 and 7) owners, Edge offers very fast synchronization solutions between PC and iOS devices, but for macos the goal is quite different.
It is unlikely that a Mac user to use Edge as internet browser default, but on Mac we find most developers of web applications and website-hate. At the moment, they have no option to test the works on Mac with Edge.

Unfortunately, there is currently no "preview" or Beta A Edge version for Macos to be tested. It is expected that in the first half of 2019 Microsoft will provide tests a start for macos. Most likely at the end of the following year Microsoft Edge will be available on Macos.

I've been writing passionately since 2004 about Windows and Linux operating systems, and since 2010 I've become a fan of Apple University. I'm currently writing tutorials for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and other Apple devices.
