Apparently, Apple's strategy is to develop its voice applications in the future, such as Siri on HomePod, iOS and Mac.
Apple recently bought the startup PullString, created to develop and publish voice applications.
In the past, PullString developed a technology that allowed vocal interaction between children and toys. The platform helping toy manufacturers develop interactive voice applications on teddy bears, dolls and other gadgets for children.
The next step was the development of voice applications for the platforms Amazon echo and Google Assistant.
Currently, PullString helps companies to design, to prototype and public voice applications in a few minutes, using its tools. It helps them to focus more on the development of new ideas voice technology and urges them to forget about AI (Artificial Intelligence) and why it means "machine learning“.
Although Apple refused to provide official information, it seems that PullString obtained an amount of approximately $30 million, plus another $10 million awarded to top-level management.
In the near future, Apple could use the PullString experience to make it easier to write and design voice-based applications for Siri. Voice assistant present on HomePod, iOS and macOS. Compared to Echo and Google Assistant, Siri has a lot to catch up on.
