In a surprising move, Apple has announced that it will adopt the RCS (Rich Communication Services) standard, launching the function through a software update next year. Aceasta va aduce funcții asemănătoare cu cele ale iMessage în schimbul de mesaje între utilizatorii de iPhone și Android.
However, Apple says that Imessage will remain the main platform for communicating between iPhone users, being safer and better respecting confidentiality than RCS, which does not currently provide an equally strong encryption.
