Update:

Long wait for the option to allow saving messages from conversations in iCloud is about to be released by Apple for all owners of iPhone, iPad si Mac.
In fact, this option has already been launched for users who have iPhone or iPad devices enrolled in Apple Beta Software Program and installed the version 11.3 iOS Beta 1.

What helps us save messages in iCloud - Messages on iCloud

First we'll have less space for messaging. Over time, in conversations beside the text, they gather together media content. Images, videos, live photos and other elements that occupy the storage space on the iPhone or iPad. Saving messages in iCloud will significantly reduce this data volume, by moving this content from the device to iCloud. It is something somewhat similar to "iCloud Picture Library". Option that allows to keep the original images in iCloud, thus leaving more free space on storageon the iPhone / iPad.

Another great advantage of Messages on iCloud this syncing older messages across deviceson which the same account is logged iCloud. So if you have the messages on your iPhone and you reinstall your Mac or buy a new one, after authentication old messages appear on the new device.
Until now, the synchronization of messages between iPhone, iPad and Mac was available, but if the operating system was reinstalled on one of the devices, the messages disappeared. Remaining available only on other devices.

Since it is a matter of synchronizing the messages in their entirety, automatically deleting a message from one device will also delete it from the others. For example, if you receive or send a message from iPhone, then delete it, it will be deleted from all devices. The condition is that all have the option “Messages on iCloud” activated.

How to enable or disable the “Messages on iCloud"

When you access for the first timeMessages after the update to iOS 11.3 you will be asked if you want to activate this option. You have “Use iCloud” and “Not Now”. If you don't do this then and you want to activate this option later, go to “Settings” →  “Apple ID” (first option from the top) →  “iCloud” → tick activate (green) the option to the right of "Messages".

In iCloud both time text messages will be saved SMS, MMS media messages and iMessages.

Also from here you can deactivate “Messages on iCloud”If you need to do this.

I am happy to share my experiences in the field of computers, mobile phones and operating systems, to develop web projects and to bring the most useful tutorials and advice. I like to "play" on the iPhone, MacBook Pro, iPad, AirPort Extreme and on operating systems macOS, iOS, Android and Windows.
