WWDC 2021 brought a lot of news that promise to be available in the fall and make it easier to use the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV and Mac.

Starting with iOS 15, Apple will provide users with more free iCloud storage, to be able to move the data to the new devices. This space will be only available for 3 weeks, the period in which the user to be able to transfer via iCloud Backup all the data from the old device to the new one. A maximum limit of allocated space is not specified, but surely 600 GB will be enough for photos, videos, applications and settings (the data that will be transferred via iCloud Backup). We take into account the fact that the maximum storage capacity on the iPhone 12 Pro is 512 GB.

It is a welcome upgrade, given that for several years Apple has shown no signs of wanting to increase the free storage space, which is currently 5 GB for each iCloud account. Insufficient space for transferring photos, video recordings and files from one iPhone to another via iCloud Backup.

In addition to this free upgrade with a limited period, Apple also presented the new one iCloud+. A service to come without additional costs from the subscribers, and will include some new features. Private Relay, Hide My Email and HomeKit Secure Video.

Therefore, if we do not have a paid subscription for extended storage space in iCloud, starting in the fall we will receive free "unlimited" iCloud space for 3 weeks. Most likely, this extended storage space will be activated automatically when we buy a new iPhone and register it with the Apple ID present on the old device.
