Most of the time, when we frequently access from the computer a site we have a account with user and password, we choose this data to be saved in the browser. It is a convenient and fast method for authentication to a visit.
Apple did an excellent job and introduced the option of save user word On iOS devices, both in websites and applications. When we want to authenticate from the iPhone or iPad in an application or in a website, above the virtual keyboard will appear a key icon through which the user can access the accounts with user and password in iOS.

Where the accounts (user and password) are saved on iPhone or iPad

Apple allows users to save usernames and passwords related to both applications and for websites visited in safari. These passwords are saved in safe conditions, being available to iPhone and iPad users at each authentication session. The username and passwords are saved in the iCloud / Apple ID account being available on all Apple devices on which the same account is authenticated. Specifically, if you have an iPhone and an iPad you have the same Apple account, the passwords on the iPhone will also be available on the iPad. This synchronization is also available for Mac users. Being devices from the same ecosystem the synchronization between iOS and macos works perfectly. Thus the accounts saved on Mac in Safari will also be available on iPhone or iPad.

Where we find username and passwords saved on iPhone or iPad

1. We open "Settings” → “Accounts & Passwords"→ We press on the option"App & Website Passwords"Where will we have to authenticate with Touch ID or the device password.

2. After authentication with Touch ID or the device device, the list of all accounts stored on the iPhone will be displayed. By pressing one of them, you will have access to the username and password.

From this list you can edit the authentication data or they can be deleted, if we want it. Note that deleting an account from this list will be done on all synchronized devices with the same iCloud account.

I've been writing passionately since 2004 about Windows and Linux operating systems, and since 2010 I've become a fan of Apple University. I'm currently writing tutorials for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and other Apple devices.
