The installation of Windows on Mac involves creating a new partition dedicated to the Windows operating system, which will take from the volume (partition) maccos.

Fortunately, when we decide to give up Windows installed on Mac, we can do it very easily with the help of Boot Camp Assistant, and the dedicated Windows partition will be erased and its volume automatically added to the macos partition. Without restart and without loss of data on the partition of the macos system.

How do we delete the Windows 10 /11 operating system from Mac and how do we recover the space allocated to the Windows partition?

1. We open the utility Boot Camp Assistant On the macos and we only select the option ”Remove Windows 10 or later version“. Click “Continue“.

2. In the next screen we are warned that the Windows partition (volumes) will delete with all the data. Before you click on "Restore"Make sure you do not have stored data you need on Windows.

3. Click “Restore"And we are waiting until it is completed Windows 11 deletion process / Windows 10 from Mac.

As it is about a distribution process in which the volume of Windows partition will be combined with that of "disk1", It is Excluded to close or restart Mac until the completion of this process.

“The Windows partition has been removed from APFS Container “disk1″.”

The process lasts only a few minutes, and in the end the Windows partition / volume will be deleted from Mac and the space allocated to the first volume.
